Choices of the Heart by Laurie Alice Eakes- Enjoyable!

Cover Art

For the needs of another, sacrifice is but a necessity.

Esther Charrett a preacher's daughter leaves her parents home to make a start on her own in the mountains of Virginia. Armed with a passel of books in tow she begins her new career as a teacher.

Zach Brooks and Griffin Tolliver, cousins, whose personalities are so  different, yet in some ways very much alike each sharing their own strengths and weaknesses.

What Esther encounters instead in her new home town are feuding relatives set on acheiving their own agenda. As she keeps up appearances her thoughts stray longingly towards home as familiarity and newness bite at her emotions. Will she be able to fulfill her job as the new teacher despite mounting difficulties between the families or will she leave her job unfinished?

A novel of romance, secrets, hatred and tenderness held my interest and kept me digging deeper into the storyline. The dialogue throughout much of the novel was charming country backwoods, the plot engaging, scenery realistic and character development was strong. I really enjoyed connecting with Griff seemed very familiar to me. The book came full circle and promises no dull parts nor cliff hangers. I was entertained by this faith challenging novel. I would recommend this well written book to others. I received a complimentary copy for this blog tour from Revell Publishing for my review.

“Available January 2013 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.”
