Wings of Glass by Gina Holmes- Don't Miss This Book!

A true moment requires a thought and an action to render the conclusion.

Penny was young when she met Trent Taylor. Longing to escape from an unsatisfactory home life she anxiously left with the one who made her feel like a princess. It soon became apparent, in her dream state, that she really did not know Trent as his love quickly became of the sheltering and controlling type.
When a work related accident befalls Trent she finds work and meets two women, Callie and Fatimah, who create one well devised plan. In the darkest hour will it be possible for Penny to protect those who need her most?

A story of abuse, heartbreak, suspense, longing, friendship and love guaranteed to keep you reading well past the midnight hour. Well devised and progressive plot, realistic and well formed characters and descriptive colorful scenery blend together expertly to create a most impossible to put down novel.
From the beginning I was drawn into her story which seemed so real and monumental to me. The author tackles a difficult subject matter successfully with grace and although this is fiction it could possibly be read as a nonfiction memoir. An extremely well written book that offers no dragging or dull parts. I was entertained by this faith challenging and inspiring read and will highly recommend this book to others. 5 Stars!

Pocket Your Dollars by Carrie Rocha- Insightful and Helpful

  1. Pocket Your Dollars

Looking to save your hard earned money, or perhaps how to change your attitude towards debt and money management?

The author and her husband Marco have come from two entirely different family lifestyles and were raised with conflicting views on money, circumstances and spending habits. Together they devised a plan on how to live and stay debt free. Included are how to be satisfied, becoming aware of thought patterns, avoiding the temptation and many more chapters and subchapters. Many tips and mindsets are brought into the overall picture along with personal quizzes and discussion questions at the end of each chapter.

I did enjoy this book and found the information practical, useful and valuable. Most helpful to me were subchapters ie: the products to look for on sale and at what time of the year to find them on sale, how to track spending and when setbacks happen. The author shares her life throughout a good portion of Pocket Your Dollars and what she and her husband have discovered about their spending and saving habits. I do think that each person who reads this book can walk away learning something which can then be applied to their lives. Overall good read 4 Stars! I received a complimentary copy of the book from Bethany House Publishers for my review.

The Moses Quilt by Kathi Macias- Reality

A patchwork quilt can hold within it's stitches generations of stories.

A modern story of love that bridges a powerful historical one centered around a colorful quilt.
As days shorten for Mimi, Great Grandmother to Mazie Hartford she shares with Mazie, her mother Lilly, and her boyfriend Edward Clayton the harsh reality of the life of Harriet Tubman a slave. As she explains the meaning to each picture housed within the quilt matching Harriet's story her family discovers that life within the plantations often contain great faith, strength, heartbreak, love, and courage. Yet sometimes quilts can harbor secrets that threaten to tear apart solid bonds.

An unforgettable story of love, patience, and reality that introduces  memorable characters, a realistic, often times gripping plot and easy to hear dialogue that will promise a read for reflection and rememberance long after the last page is read. This book offers a twist that I could not figure out and has no dragging or dull parts. Well written and researched. I was entertained and challenged in my faith by this hard to put down book and will recommend it to others. Thanks to New Hope Publishers and Netgalley for the ARC for my review.

5 Days to a Clutter-Free House by Sandra Felton & Marsha Sims- My Review

Cover Art

This book utilizes common sense tactics and a detailed plan of maintaining a clutter free home using a team approach by hiring or rounding up others to tackle difficult areas of the home. Reminds me of tv shows like Hoarders. Included are chapters and discussions ie: do's and don'ts, make it like a game, what you will need, how to have the right attitude for decluttering, the different types of clutter such as emotionally based and many others. Also included are personal success stories.

5 Days to a Clutter-Free House has many points of useful information for those who are "clueless" on how to get rid of the "stuff" that is overwhelming them. The one area I found useful for anyone is how to adopt lifestyle changes that lead up to clutter in the first place, how to recognize them and how to eliminate them. I was looking for a plan on how to tackle problem areas alone and I did not find them here but only offered tips on using others to help or hiring companies who specialize in clutter removal. I would recommend this book to others who struggle with emotional clutter and not just home clutter in general. 3.3 stars
